On the occasion of Alexander von Humboldt’s 250th birthday, the theme of ‘exploration’

for the performance in the outdoor space. Humboldt’s self-experiments on mine gases, altitude sickness, etc. pushed him to his limits.

Humboldt was not only known for his scientific research trips, but also for his desire to experience and feel nature alongside his empirical exploration of it.

The theme of ‘discovery’ is inherent in the site-specific light-sign process, as viewers see familiar façades in different contexts and discover new aspects of their everyday environment. Nikola Dicke uses the building façades in the heart of the city as a projection surface and invites passers-by and visitors to participate in the creation of the drawings. In this way, they not only experience the evening as spectators, but also explore the projection technique and the connection between the small-format drawing track and the building-filling projection with their own hands.
